Deep and Wreck Certification on the Canterbury Wreck

Are you ready to become a deep diver and explore deeper wrecks, coral-encrusted walls, reefs and more? Many exciting dive sites like the Canterbury lie in deep waters and the SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you how to get there – safely and with confidence. You will learn how to plan and conduct dives to between 18 and 40 meters deep and earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification.

Many of the ocean’s best dive sites are wrecks. These impressive structures attract unusually high densities of marine life and give you the chance to immerse in living history as you dive.

There is nothing quite like wreck diving and the SSI Wreck Diving specialty will give you all the skills and knowledge you need to become a safe and confident wreck diver. You will be taught how to safely conduct non-penetration dives around wrecks and artificial reefs, up to a depth of 30 meters.

You will get to practice your wreck diving skills during our time at the Canterbury. All of which will ensure you can enjoy wreck diving with confidence and get the most out of every dive. Upon completion of this weekend of programs, you will earn your SSI Wreck Diving and SSI Deep Diving Specialty certifications.

Board at the Northland Dive lodge is included, which has options for double, single and bunk rooms. For the more out-door types, there are several camp sites. Meals are catered (no chance of going hungry). You also have a variety of après-dive entertainment such as pool, darts, tv/dvd, reading material, cards and board games. This package includes a space in the bunk rooms but you may choose to upgrade, subject to availability at an additional cost.

Bringing your own Gear?

It’s always reassuring diving with equipment that you own & trust.  And the joys of owning your own equipment is ensuring it has been serviced and in good working order.  If you, NZ Dive School or Northland Dive feels any of your equipment is faulty or not fit for the conditions we have plenty of gear for hire.

This course is suitable as one of your three weekends to achieve Master Diver status.
